FREE PEOPLE BIRTHDAY PARTY

My birthday is in a couple of days, so naturally my birthday weekend wish was to make a trip to the Free People in New Orleans.  Before my significant other and I ventured over to Magazine Street, we had a somewhat peaceful lunch at Café du Monde, with beignets, a frozen latte and hot chocolate.

I know Free People's products backward and forward, and the store basically had all my online wants. And more.  I've been there a few times before, and it seems like they now have more merchandize to choose from.  In true FP spirit, an employee's 11-year-old Jack Russell was running around playing with and barking at customers.  He kept my boyfriend busy.  Another employee was totally rocking a pair of flares.

I took everything I've been goggling over into the dressing room, plus a few items I've never noticed online.  Bralettes (FP lace is tops), no-zipper bell bottoms, a vegan shearling jacket, baseball tee, fedora and flannel sequined top.

The bell bottoms were a no-go.  Literally threw them off my body as soon as I put them on.  The bralettes obviously rocked, although I'm waiting for my birthday coupon to order one online--it's a basic so I can handle the wait.  The baseball tee didn't wow me, but I was completely drooling over the shearling jacket, flannel button-down and fedora, which I've wanted since the summer.

Clipperton Fedora.  So glad they had a green left.  I wore it today and got three compliments, all from men might I add.  It's sitting prettily on my dresser.

Vegan Shearling Motorcycle Jacket.  These dressing room selfies are kind of embarrassing.  It's pretty costly so I had to pass it up, but it'll go on sale right?  A little stiff in the arms, but I'm sure the sleeves will break in.  Notice I said will.  I'm also wearing J Brand jeans (811 Mid Rise Skinny) and Jeffrey Campbells.  Both I already own.

Plaid Sequin Yoke Buttondown.  Can I just say the online photo of this shirt does it ZERO justice.  My picture is pretty awful, too.  Such a beautiful marigold color, and the sequins are to die for.  No hesitation in buying this jewel.
